Photography and Commissioned Art |
The Folger collection forms the largest single source of images on this website. Objects from the collection were photographed by Julie Ainsworth, head of photography and digital imaging at Folger Shakespeare Library. We are grateful to her and the entire photography department, particularly Bettina Smith, for their efforts in preparing and tracking the large number of images needed for this site.
We greatly appreciate the work of freelance photo editor Jane Martin, founder and principal of The Photo Editor, in helping us to obtain a wealth of additional photography from other sources. We extend special thanks to Photofest, a photo agency specializing in images of entertainment and the performing arts, for their patience, care, and thoughtful assistance throughout the project in locating a wealth of images of stage and filmed productions from their archives. We also thank the many theaters and festivals, publishers, collectors, and academic, historic, and library archives who provided additional images.
Credits acknowledging our photo sources are displayed with photographs on the site; more detailed credits and additional information about the photos may generally be found by clicking on the photographs.
Designer and illustrator Andrea LeHuep of Soleil Design created the illustrated mazes and the coloring images in Just for Kids for this website. Designer Jeannie Krohn of Krohn Design developed the new graphic headings used for the lesson plan worksheets for this project.
